I recently installed a Kouba lowering link on my 06 450r and and raised my fork's up as high as they will go in the trip's but the bike still looks a bit raked. Factory connection does a rebuild plus height reduction for more money than i have right now and i've got a friend who can rebuild them. What exactly do i need to do parts etc. Any ideas or advice would be great. Susco with all your bikes you gotta know dude!!!!

Your R is a mx race bike. Designed to sit tall in order to get the 12+ inches of suspension travel. You go messing with the posture of it and what you end up with is unpredictable. Get the correct spring rates for your weight and customize other areas. Your bike should sag 4 1/4" with the correct springs. My wife is only 5'1'' and has her 250 set up comfy for her size and it is as tall as my 450. ProTaper +5mm footpegs, Tag Honda Low Bend Bars. Dealing with the tip toe balancing doesn't become a problem for her racing MX, but she does struggle at times if we are trail riding a very technical section. That's what we bought her 150 big wheel for. I know a lot of people that have done lowering things to their suspensions, and I have ridden some, and you will lose some of the performance that makes your R the awesome bike that it is. Getting the forks lowered is a fairly technical operation, spring seats need repositioned, the valving needs to be corrected to the shorter stroke. Best left to the xperts, FC all the way.

i have an 09 450 and I'm about to order the Factory Connection longer lower linkage arm. It will make the bike sit lower in the rear. Should I lower the forks in the trees too????
