Hey guys,

So I just took my 05 crf250r out just to start it up since its been a month or so since I started it up. The bike started up fine and I let it run for 10 min or so to warm up. Then I put it in 1st gear to take it for a spin and the bike stalled on me. I started it up and tried 3 or 4 more times and the same thing...bikes dies when i put it in 1st. I looked at the clutch cable and i can see it engaging at the clutch box but it seems like the bike remains in gear. I put it in first, pulled the clutch all the way in and the bike is still in gear cause it won't roll. Do you guys have any idea what the issue could be?

How much freeplay at the lever? You should have no more than about 3/16". If that is set right then it's time to open up the clutch cover and inspect for warped plates and grooved basket. Not clutch related but, 10 minutes is way to long to warm your bike up without air flowing through the radiators. 2 or 3 minutes is as long as you should let it idle.
